A CPA since 1985, he’s also a Maine native, earning his Bachelor and Master’s degrees from the University of Southern Maine. Tom joined us in 2021 bringing with him over 35 years of public accounting experience in the greater Portland area, preparing and reviewing federal and state returns for businesses and individuals… and providing consulting and attestation services. More than 25 of those years included providing tax and consulting services to non-profit organizations.
Tom lives in North Yarmouth with his wife of 36 years and their youngest daughter. He enjoys following the road racing and high school cross-country seasons as well as hiking, fishing and the Maine fairs.

We’re very excited to have Sue on our team! She’s exactly who we’ve been looking for, and we’re so glad she wanted to live in Portland. Sue grew up in California but moved to the east coast in 2004, and recently relocated to Maine from Rhode Island.
Sue earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from California State University, Fresno, and her Master of Science in Taxation from Golden Gate University. She has over 25 years of tax and consulting experience, providing income tax planning, and federal and state tax compliance services for individuals and various types of corporate and pass-through business entities.

Kathy is our Front Office Manager, and if you call or email our office for information or to schedule an appointment, Kathy will be standing by to help you. Kathy comes with vast experience in customer service, operations management, quality control, scheduling and reporting. She’s a whiz at Microsoft Office applications as well as social networking.

John, another Maine native living in South Portland, joined Honeck O’Toole in 2010 after graduating from Skidmore College with a BA in Business Management & Economics. His experience in project management, QuickBooks support & IT problem solving allows him to work directly with our clients to assist in many different types of situations.

Kelly is an attorney and CPA focusing on trust taxation, business planning and estate planning. She joined us in 2007. She’s a member of the Maine Estate Planning Council.

Peter, a Maine native from Aroostook County, was an audit manager for Brooks & Carter, CPAs before joining our firm in 1992. He became a shareholder of the firm in 1996. He provides tax, financial and estate planning services as well as attest services to individuals, domestic partners and small business owners.

Joyce, another Maine native from Aroostook County, has been with our firm since 1988 and became a shareholder of the firm in 2009. Joyce provides accounting, tax and consulting services to clients specializing in QuickBooks, entity selection, securing capital, retirement plan selection and business start up needs.
