Kelly graduated from the University of Southern Maine’s accounting program in 2002 and the University of Maine School of Law in 2005, where her focus was on taxation, business planning, and estate planning. She passed the Maine Bar exam in July 2005. After a short time in the legal profession, she returned to accounting at her father's accounting firm, Dargis & Busby (now closed). Kelly lives in Biddeford and enjoys outdoor activities in the summer.
