In October of 1982, Jane Honeck opened the firm in Portland, Maine. A year later, Janet O'Toole joined Jane and formed Honeck-O'Toole, CPAs.

Growing to a professional accounting staff of nine, the practice specializes in tax and financial planning and accounting and management consulting for individuals and a wide variety of small businesses. Please see our client links page to see a listing of just some of our 1,500 clients.

Jane and Janet both worked for several years in a large, national accounting firm before managing their own business. Both are also Personal Financial Specialists (PFS), a designation of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants which recognizes personal financial planning as a specialty area of expertise. Partner Peter Callnan joined the firm in 1992, bringing his wealth of knowledge and community involvement to round out the firm’s unique and personal-touch offering.
